This post is long overdue.
I tend to be at the office fairly late so I often have to plan in advance when I have somewhere to go after work. This makes versatile outfits key. On this particular day I had a client coming in to shop with me during the day, and an event for the Looking Glass Theater at the Prada store at night. I needed an outfit in which I could be comfortable yet cute and take from work to play… or as my friend deemed it: “business on the top, party on the bottom”
To make a “day into night” outfit work, one should consider 3 things: texture, accessories and footwear. I softened my leather mini skirt with some cozy cashmere. I switched from my workbag to a fringe evening bag. And I swapped out my hidden wedge booties for some shiny peeptoes- the patent leather helped dress up my look by adding some sheen. Andddd voila.
