This past weekend was Lollapalooza. As expected, crazyness ensued. Friday night I attended the ASOS and VH1 after party at the Hard Rock hotel where I saw St. Lucia and Emeli Sande perform. Both were pretty great. While there I scored a sick swag bag of beachy products from a vending machine activated by tweeting.
I started off day 2 at the Rolling Stone party at Studio Paris where The Vaccines took the stage. I was totally digging their Canadian tuxedo uniforms… and their tunes. Afterwards I headed over for the real festivities at Grant Park. I was lucky enough to snag a backstage access wristband from a new friend.

Please note: this hat has cat ears. Meow.
I had to snap a photo of the personalized tanks these girls made for the festival. My favorite saying of them all? “Buy me brunch”
Sunday was a wild day as well. I’d have to say Dog Blood ( a side project of Skrillex and Boys Noize) was one of my favorites. I had the pleasure of watching from the side stage.
I am not here to preach about who gave the best performance or rate each artist. There are enough threads about that on the internet. Instead I will top off this post with….
My Top 10 Takeaways from Lollapalooza 2013
1. Wear some sort of head piece
2. Tegan and Sara are twins, not lovers
3. Red Bull is a game changer
4. Bring hand sanitizer
5. Wear some sort of platforms for better views (I wore wedge sneakers and crazy gothic spice girl looking shoes)
6. People will not barter like they do at Bonnaroo (I offered a girl $6 and a granola bar for a $15 headband and she said no)
7. Don’t pay for drinks, you can get them for free
8. Your cellphone won’t work. And your battery will die
9. The Rolling Stone party has lobster rolls
10. If you lose your friends, you probably won’t find them.
And one final treat from the Hard Rock hotel:
