Sundays are the perfect day for a leisurely bike ride. In Chicago it seems like people are always active. I can definitely get down with that. What I can’t get down with is a lululemon uniform. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some good yoga pants and lululemon does wonders for the tush…. I just happen to have a different idea on mixing fashion and function.
I love my bike. It’s a Linus with an antique picnic basket on the front.
On this particular day I was taking a ride over to Space 519. The lovely ladies there had invited me to come by for a manicure by Astrowifey– an amazing Chicago-based nail artist. When asked what I wanted I replied, “think ice cream, unicorns and Alice in Wonderland.” She pretty much hit the nail on the head. My ring fingers were complete with a gold pegasus and a gold unicorn head.
As always, comfort is key for me, especially when maneuvering a bike. Since I get teased for wearing wedges while pedaling I figured these sneaker wedges were perfect because they would give me a good grip without having to wear my Nike sneakers. I’m not one for the plain black spandex, so if one is going to wear leggings, choosing a pair with an edge is key. I love this pair with the brown suede paneling. Layering this cashmere vest was perfect because not only did it keep me warm, it also blew out behind like a cape making me look like a superhero.
