These overalls are definitely a statement piece. But statement pieces can also be versatile. I mean, just think about all the different places Mario wore his overalls. You might remember seeing this striped number before here when I dressed them up for an evening rooftop event. Today I decided to dress down that same pair for a cozy winter look.
A lot of “summery” pieces, like these overalls or even white pants, can be worn all year round if you know how to pair them. Color and texture are important. I chose this sweater because the chunky knit and cream color really warmed up the bold stripes. It was also the perfect length. These boots helped to soften the look as well with the tan color and wintery suede.
Chicago weather has been pretty cold and wet so my mane has been a bit out of control. If you ever need an easy quick idea for a bad hair day, try this one out. Part your hair and section it off from your ears forward, leaving out your bangs. On one side pull back all of the hair into one thick braid and fasten it in the back with bobby pins. On the other side separate the hair into two uneven sections, and create one thinner braid and one thicker braid. Pin them together in the back of your hair.
