This dress was gifted to me by my cousin when I was in Miami. Is it a summery dress? Yeah. Is it a bad idea to wear silk in Chiberia? Yeah, probably. So what? One of the reasons I disagree with storing things seasonally is because I believe that the majority of clothing can be worn all year round. It’s all about HOW you wear it. Now of course there are the obvious exceptions to this rule. And for the most part it only works for certain seasons since you probably wouldn’t want to wear wool in the summer because you would sweat your face off. But I would certainly wear my heavy combat boots with some cut off jean shorts and a tank! Try it yourself- take a further look into your summer/spring closet and I bet you will find a few pieces that you can wear now. Seriously. Do it. And then send me pictures so I can see please.
Now let’s take a look at this summer dress gone rogue…
Why it works: Tie dye is typically a warm weather look, but the colors in this pattern are neutral. I paired it with opaque tights and big heavy boots. Then, to offset the lightweight flow, I added this suede jacket. Boom.
