This past weekend I had an event to attend and I was feeling less than glamorous. Maybe it was the long cold season that has kept me pale, or the sad winter clothing in my closet begging to be retired… Whatever it was, my look needed a boost. After a quick little makeover and an attitude adjustment I was able to achieve my goal of looking completely refreshed. People actually mistook me for one of the tweens!
So without further ado, here are 5 easy steps to appear at least 10 years younger…
1. Go Natural: Young girls rarely dye their hair and wear very little makeup. Strip your hair of all those dyes and highlights and go back to your natural shade of lovely. In addition, toss aside those smokey eyes and opt instead for a hint of blush, a drop of mascara, and some clear gloss.
2. Invest in some precious metal: Nothing screams youth like braces. Not only are braces popular among teens, they also draw the the eyes away from fine lines, and return your teeth back to their post-retainer perfection.
3. Join The Crowd: Hang out with people that are the age you are trying to look. By hanging out with people who are younger, you will act younger and thus appear younger. Voila! Youth by association.
4. Have Your Cake:
a. If it is your birthday, be sure to have a cake dressed with as many candles as years you wish to appear. After a certain age, women stop dressing a cake to represent their age. By including numerous candles, you will appear excited to turn yet another year older.
b. Eat the cake. Young girls have faster metabolisms and are therefore less concerned with caloric intake. By eating cake you will appear more carefree.
5. Frames and Filters: In today’s world of social media, no photo goes posted without a little enhancing. Choose a filter that will give you a healthy looking glow and select a whimsical frame. For the photo below I used a “ripped page” style frame to make it look as though I was walking out of the pages of a fairytale. (Feel free to copy this)
