Yesterday morning I woke up and looked in the mirror at my new bright hair which I had gotten done the night before by my color genius, Jim, over Studio 110. It was set to be in the low 50’s and looking through my Chicago glasses, that was warm. I glanced over at my outerwear rack and my eyes landed upon this white jacket that still had the tags on it. I threw it on and 10 minutes (30 minutes) later I was striding out the door in my rubber ballet flats. I felt a little uncomfortable in this clean and feminine outfit and then a funny thing happened when I got to work….
Everyone seemed to love this look, with the focal point being the jacket (and then the shoes and fancy blow-out were tied for a close second). I was hearing comments like, ” I love your jacket!” “You look like Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club!” “You look like the moms I used to help at Nordstrom!” Even the Trunk Club barista noticed and threw in a “Wow, your hair! I just had to do a double take. And you look like an angel in that white jacket!” Comments, compliments, I’ll let you be the judge. By the end of the day, I had several girls asking to borrow my jacket, so I’d say decision to bring the spring was a success.
While I kept a simple silhouette, I decided to make the look a bit more styled with the use small detailed accessories. I threw on the plain grey tee to dress it down a bit and went for the half tuck to make sure the hardware on my belt was visible.
