Sometimes the things we love to wear are the things that have strong memories attached to them. To the passerby these thing will appear mundane, but to you they may conjure up mental images of that night you had a rum and coke too many and woke up with hearts drawn all over your body in permanent marker.
Take for example… this leather jacket, which I bought at the leather market in Florence on spring break from an extremely jovial bald man named Mossimo who insisted on posing for photos every time he made a sale. Or these sunglasses, which I may wear everyday, but I picked them up on a Thelma and Louise adventure with my best friend one week after quitting my first job and about 6 hours before a night of insanity with 6 navy seals in training. The dress and shoes? I swear I conjured these up. Thought about the exact items I was in the mood to buy and like magic they appeared before me on super sale and fit perfectly.
Perhaps a drop of homesickness is making me nostalgic. Either way, the point of this rant is that the outfit below may not look overly exciting. I just love it. The leather and shoes pick up the little dots on the inside of the daisies, and the length of the jacket allows for the free flow of the dress.
