It’s pretty common to have a designer create a line that makes you want to purchase something. What is not common is having a designer create a line that inspires you. Well, that is exactly what happened the first time I laid eyes on a Mara Hoffman design. It was a one shouldered dress that I bought in Georgetown my senior year of college. I have loved her work ever since- I also still own the dress. I had the opportunity to meet her briefly while attending a NYFW after-party at a cool little spot in the east village. It took me about 20 minutes to work up the courage to introduce myself to her and she turned out to be as cute and fairy-like as you would imagine.
