If you haven’t heard of PrettyQuick, it’s something you’re going to want to download. It’s an app designed to make life easier for your inner diva. Upon opening it, PrettyQuick locates where you are, shows you all of the services (hair, nails, massages, facials, waxing) available at salons nearby and allows you to book your appointment online right then and there without making a single call.
What started as the OpenTable for beauty appointments has now expanded its service to include a new feature called PrettyNOW which offers 5-30% off same-day appointments at featured salons.

So what enticed me to use it?
I have been in need of a facial for a while now, but always delayed making an appointment because A) I didn’t know where to go and B) I had a bad experience in the past and was a little nervous about the process. I used PrettyQuick to find spots for facials in my neighborhood. What I liked is that the app integrates with Yelp so I was able to see reviews on each of the salons I was checking out.
So where did I go?
After much research (after all, this is my face we’re talking about, not just a manicure) I decided to try out the spa at the Dana Hotel. I booked the Anti Aging Collagen Lift facial with a microdermabrasion add-on. The spa was nice, complete with a fitness center, steam room, and relaxation room. And the staff was even nicer.
The microdermabrasion came first. Aimee, the lovely aesthetician, used a tool with natural diamond chips to exfoliate my skin and get rid of dead skin cells to brighten my face and minimize any fine lines. I was expecting this to be painful or at least rough but it didn’t irritate my skin at all.The anti aging component utilized peptides, antioxidants, firming collagen and hyaluronic acid to help fill wrinkles, plump, and repair the skin.
(I know, it looks a little like a scene from Dexter, but it felt amazing.)
I left the spa feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. And my skin? Well, it looked brighter, clear and youthful. I will definitely be going back there again.
