Ever lose touch with a friend from growing up and when you bump back into them find that they are doing something pretty cool? Well that’s what happened when I got back in touch with Joie. Joie DiGiovanni is a chick I have known for years and is now gaining momentum on the east coast with her handmade jewelry.
What started as a collection of hand strung beaded bracelets has blossomed into a full blown line complete with leathers, fresh water pearls and semi-precious stones. We had been chatting several months back and she sent me over a necklace that I fell in love with so when she reached out a month or so ago when I was back in Philly asking if she could get my take on her newest additions I of course said yes.
The meet-up began as a casual meeting of the minds and a game of dress up in sweatpants on my couch and ended in the idea to do a collaboration. The next day I was over at her studio and she was showing me the high end pearls and how she hand drills each and every one of them. I was extremely impressed and excited.
(That’s Joie in her element)
We put our heads together and I spit out ideas while she worked her magic to create a fun and approachable line that is easy on the eyes and easy on the budget. So take a look below at the beginning of an exciting collaboration: ARIEL PECHE X JOIE DIGIOVANNI… Bringing my style as blogger and the expertise of a designer into your closet.
