I would say I am pretty low maintenance as far as my appearance and beauty products. I rarely get manicures, I touch my eyebrows once in a blue moon, and get haircuts a couple of times a year. But when it comes to my skin I try and take care of it the best I can. That’s not to say I am any sort of skin care expert… I do have 3 main rules though:
1. I have to wear something with an SPF in it on my face during the day
2. Eye cream is a must
3. Make up always comes off before bed (this is something I finally managed to master in the past year. Pretty mature, right?)
I definitely don’t know the things your skincare routine must include, but these are the products I use. This is not a sponsored post… just my current favorites. My goal is to put off the need for botox as long as possible.
So these are the products I use for my daytime routine…
1. Simple Foaming Facial Cleanser. I just started using this a week or so ago and I have been loving it. It is hypoallergenic, has no harsh chemicals and makes my face feel clean. Plus I like that a little foam goes a long way on my face. (get it here)
2. Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum. This is the most expensive product I use but I think its worth it (even the reviews on this product on Sephora.com are pretty amazing). I pat it on my face and neck after I use the cleaner. It helps to add a little extra boost to my routine and helps smooth out fine lines. I like serums because they absorb more quickly into the skin so they’re a great layer under a moisturizer. (get it here)
3. Bliss Fabulous Everyday Eye Cream . I like this eye cream because it is lightweight but moisturizing enough that under eye concealer goes on smoothly over it. (get it here)
4. Revlon Photoready BB Cream . I really like this BB cream. It’s lightweight, doesn’t make me look greasy and doesn’t make me break out. I use the Medium shade as the base of my makeup instead of a foundation. It evens out my skin tone and gives me a little color. Most importantly is has spf 30 in it. (get it here)
5. Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer . I don’t like wearing lipstick or lip gloss so I like these tinted lip shimmers. I have it in Rhubarb and Apricot and just use it as my chapstick. I like the consistency. They go on smooth but still offer color and protect my lips. (get it here)
So I switch up my products for the evening. I like things that are a little heavier so they can sink in overnight while I sleep.
1. Simple Foaming Facial Cleanser . I use this one in the morning and evening.
2. Clarisonic Mia Facial Sonic Cleanser .This tool is not cheap, but again, I think it’s worth it. I use it a couple of times a week, especially on days when I wear more makeup than usual. It gets rid of the dead skin cells that make your skin look dull and gives you a really deep clean. (get it here)
3. Trader Joe’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil . I am a firm believer in the power of coconut oil. It saved my skin. I use it all over my body after I shower and use it on my face as well. I use a thin layer of it at night after I wash my face. It removes impurities and leave my skin really soft. I even use it as an on the spot treatment instead of pimple medicine when I have a blemish. (get it here)
4. Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Eye Opening Serum . I decided to try this out a couple months ago while shopping with my mom and I actually began to notice a difference in the fine lines around my eyes soon after. It goes on so smoothly and absorbs quickly. (get it here)
5. Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Youth Generating Cream . I have been using this product the longest. I lather it on my face and neck before bed. It’s really thick so it takes a little getting used to, but a little goes a long way. I like how it smells and my skin looks replenished when I wake up. (get it here)
6. Aquaphor . I keep a tub of this on my night stand and use it religiously before bed. It keeps my lips soft and heals them overnight. I seriously do not go to sleep without applying it first. It’s a multi use product too so in the winter when my skin is extremely dry I will use a little on my cuticles, knuckles (I wash my hands A LOT), and my heels. (get is here)
Well, that’s all folks.
