I took a step back for a few weeks from blogging and it helped me see that I needed a fresh new take to get my creative energy up and running again. I decided to start a new series on my blog called Room Raiders (yes, just like the MTV show) where I will be taking you inside the closets of some awesome bloggers, style icons, and influencers. I’ll be giving you an in depth look at their wardrobe, their favorite items, and most interestingly (in my opinion) what their actual closets look like.
So for my first feature I met up with Ashley Pettit of Ashley Pettit Living.

Now let’s take a look at a more intimate side of this wonder woman…
What is your go-to outfit?
On weekdays, it’s a Lululemon combo. I’ll dress it up with accessories and a more realistic top like a flannel or cashmere sweater to make it more day-to-day. On the weekend, typically Lulu or a dress. I love dresses.
What is your favorite item in your closet?
For shoes: patent leather classic Christian Louboutins. For clothes: leather leggings. And for accessories: my wedding ring. The diamonds are from my mom’s wedding band.
How would you describe your style?
Definitely a feminine classic, but every now and then I pop in a trend but focus on how it works on my body type and if I feel good in it. It’s definitely feminine, but has an edge especially when it comes to nails and shoes. I’m also big into mixing high-end with low-end; for example, combining a Chanel purse with a Forever 21 sweater.
What’s the one item you can’t get rid of?
I have a crazy obsession with leather jackets. Even if I never wear them, I keep them. I love jackets.
Anything you can’t believe you ever wore?
Back in the day, those white platform tennis shoes. And baby doll tees.
Any Items you are dying for?
The Valentino spike heels. The black heels with the studs around them, not the t-straps.
Any style rules you live by?
I dress for myself, my body type, my comfort, my confidence. I don’t buy into trends as much as I did when I was young. The pressure is also on now, so I dress to feel proud. I want people to know I mean business. When your professional life picks up, your style changes.
In your eyes, what is the biggest faux-pas?
When people dress out of their comfort zone because if you’re dressed that way you won’t be able to carry it with confidence. Also, people’s mindset when they’re shopping. It doesn’t have to be designer for it to look great. Spending more money doesn’t always look better.
