Lollapalooza 2016 was definitely one for the books. This year was the 25 year anniversary of Lolla and there were definitely some differences… this was my 6th year in a row going so I feel like I am a fair judge. Before I give a recap let me just note that my phone was stolen on Sunday (and had not been backed up) so I can’t even call this post a photo diary, much to my dismay… more just a Lollapalooza 2016 recap. I had to really scramble for photos. I’ve been moping around about it and have also been recovering since Sunday, which is why this post is also delayed.

The main difference this year was that the festival was 4 days instead of 3. It was also more crowded than any music festival I had ever attended. By the last day it was hard to move. There were a lot of new set ups like a wine lounge, and many more opportunities to shop, with awesome brands hosting booths. Which was cool, but also very commercialized.

My top three musical highlights were Griz, Flume, and of course Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was fortunate enough to watch Griz from the side stage and he was awesome.

I approached this year with a very different mentality. I went with the flow in terms of the acts I saw (definitely a few I wish I had seen). I also did zero shopping for the weekend. I decided to get creative and just mesh together all different things from my closet, including a neon Marc Jacobs necklace I’ve had since 8th grade.

It was a pretty amazing weekend. I went with the an unbelievable crew and enjoyed the experience. But I have to say, 4 days is WAY too many days.
